We recently bought some paper towels for the kitchen from a company that emphasises its environmental responsibilities. The box the product comes in has this to say: “We believe in the after life. At least for our boxes - we’re still not sure about humans. Please re-use this box to give it a happy ever after. And when you’re done, recycle it!”  

It’s a great thought to reuse the cardboard box. And the packets of paper towels are wrapped in paper, not plastic. I was very impressed with the environmental credentials of the product. But the words on the box raised an interesting question for me as a believer in God and His book the Bible. The producers of the paper towel may not be “sure about humans” and an after life. But what about me?

Well, I am sure. I believe in an after life. Because God has told me in His book the Bible that is part of His plan for this earth. Just one verse from that book - but there are many more. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23, NIV)

And God has offered us all so much more. If you’d like there to be more to your life there can be. It’s all in His book.
