Two months

Like Michael, my hobby is photography. He enjoys photographing landscapes in particular. You can see some of what he has written recently inspired by his hobby here. My style of photography is portraits, especially of my grandchildren. Both my daughters have conscientiously had me take what we call block photos each month of the first year of my grandchildren’s lives, then at 18 months, two years, and annually after that. The blocks indicate the age as per the photo accompanying this post.

Two months. In my life I won’t change in any way that is particularly visible in that short time. But what struck me recently was that this is certainly not the case with my youngest grandson. I looked at his block photos displayed on the screen in our living room. The three photos that stood out for me were the ones taken at 10 months, 11 months and one year. The differences between his features in just two months of his short life were significant and very visible.

In the debate between whether we evolved or were created I get the feeling that the amazing transformation of a baby into an adult is sometimes missed. Seeing those photos reminded me of what a miracle that transformation is.

But I acknowledge that it is a matter of belief. I believe that God created all of this and more. And if that was all there was to it maybe it wouldn’t matter too much. But it isn’t! God did it for a reason. You can read about the reason in His bible. There’s another transformation involved and it means living forever in a perfect world. True? Judge for yourself but read about it first in order to make an informed judgement.
