Bible relevance
Is the bible still relevant today? In Australia, it appears people feel it’s becoming less so. The last census in 2021 showed the largest percentage increase in religious beliefs as being ‘None’.
It’s interesting how often a solution to a problem can be sitting right in front of us – yet we don’t see it!
We all share two common issues right now:
1. We are all growing old and will eventually die
2. Earth’s climate is changing and scientists hold grave fears for our future survival
I would argue that any resource which has answers to current problems like these must be relevant – and the bible does!
“To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.” Romans 2:7 (NIV)
“Blind eyes will be opened, deaf ears unstopped, lame men and women will leap like deer, the voiceless break into song. Springs of water will burst out in the wilderness, streams flow in the desert. Hot sands will become a cool oasis, thirsty ground a splashing fountain. Even lowly jackals will have water to drink, and barren grasslands flourish richly.” Isaiah 35:6-7 (The Message)
In my experience, many people who reject the bible haven’t actually read it. Now might be a good time to start!
