Shade

Where I live can get extremely hot in summer. When I go for my daily walk during this time, I find myself zig-zagging back and forth across the street to get every scrap of shade I can.

Trees are incredible things.

David has spoken in a previous blog about their amazing structural strength. Their ability to absorb heat and keep things cool is also outstanding and provides a welcome relief.

The shade of a tree is a form of protection from the sun, and this analogy is used in the bible to describe the protection God gives those who trust in Him. King David described it this way:

“How precious is your unfailing love, O God!  All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.”  Psalm 36:7 (NLT)

If you’re finding life getting a bit too ‘hot’, turning to God for support can be a great help.

The bible contains much more information about His love for us, and what we can do for Him in return.
