Priorities

Sometimes it takes a really significant event in our lives to make us reassess our priorities – in other words, remember what’s really important to us.

It might be that we, or someone we love, gets really sick. It might be an accident or a very close call. It might be just seeing a news article about the terrible living conditions some people in the world have to endure.

Whatever the impetus, we may suddenly realise that the colour of paint we choose for the interior of our home, or the style of clothes we buy etc. are not a matter of life and death.

The Bible talks about priorities, but in this case, it is a matter of life and death. Jesus said:

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” (Matthew 6:33, NLT)

God has promised a new world and a life after this one if we prioritise Him first. If you think that’s important, there’s much more information about these promises in your Bible.
