God, breathing and us

In what is probably the oldest book in God’s bible there are a couple of very interesting and sobering verses:

“If God were to take back his spirit and withdraw his breath, all life would cease, and humanity would turn again to dust.” (Job 34:14-15, NLT)

It seems to me that logically, there are only two ways to view what these verses say: the first is to accept it as true and the second is the polar opposite. Sadly, it seems to me that there is a third way as well. Indifference. I suspect that lots of people for one reason or another are in this third category.

I am unequivocally in the first category. I believe life is sustained by God’s power. If He withdraws it the consequence is obvious. And catastrophic.

If the verses are true, there’s an irony in non-acceptance or indifference isn’t there. A power you actively don’t believe in, or don’t have an opinion about, provides every breath you take!

God’s bible makes many other claims that can affect your life now and even offers you eternal life. Is it worth checking it out? What if it’s right?!
