Care

“If you will humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, in his good time he will lift you up. Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.”

(1 Peter 5:6-7 TLB)

These Bible verses have 3 key elements:

1. The mighty creator of our world actually cares about us!

2. Number 1 is dependent on us also caring about God – believing in Him and trusting in Him.

3. God has something better planned for us in the future.

You will notice the verses don’t say you will have a trouble-free life. Unfortunately, there is a tendency to blame God when things go wrong, but He is not promising the here and now will necessarily be easy or good.

He sent His son Jesus, who had a short and very unpleasant mortal life, so that all of us could look forward to something better.

If you like the sound of this, it’s fairly simply spelt out in God’s message – the Bible.

“Come close to God, and God will come close to you.”  (James 4:8 NLT)
