Too Late

‘Too late’ – two words we don’t like to hear. They can refer to an annoyance; for example, go to the shops only to find they shut 5 minutes earlier. But they can also refer to far more serious issues. For example, a loved one was rushed to hospital in an ambulance – but it was too late.

For some time now scientists have been talking about dangerous ‘tipping points’ in our climate. Once these are passed, there’s no going back – at least not for a very long time. See this article from the CSIRO about significant climate events that are going to affect Australia:

Unfortunately, I think we know, despite all the forums, the committees and the promises, these problems aren’t going away. Eventually it’s going to be ‘too late’ for our environment.

The good news is that God will not allow this to happen. He is going to send His son, Jesus, back to the earth ‘just in time’. Jesus is going to heal our climate problems along with a whole lot of other issues. God has promised instead of sea levels rising and flooding the earth, He is going to fill the world with His glory.
