Contentment
Here is a quote from an article entitled “Contentment – The Key to Happiness”.
“Many individuals today believe that life is a race or a competition in which you must excel in everything. They may desire a more luxurious vehicle, a larger home, a higher-paying job, or more income. The problem is, the race for the next goal begins as soon as we complete the previous one. Sadly, it’s rare that people take the time to sit back, unwind, and express gratitude for everything they have already accomplished. And in some situations, ambition easily turns into greed.”

The Bible put forward very similar thoughts to the above quote nearly 2,000 years ago, with an additional missing element – God.
“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)
Once again, we find Bible teaching matching up with current research, providing us with a healthier way to live. The Bible authors knew these things because they were inspired to write them by God – our creator and the one who loves us – if only we will love Him back.
If you read your Bible, it’s a great way to find contentment and so much more; now, and in the future.
