Doom spending

Here is a quote from AI about this phenomenon: ‘the act of spending money impulsively to cope with anxiety, stress, or a sense of hopelessness about the economy and world events. Driven by the fatalistic feeling that long-term goals like buying a home are out of reach, people use retail therapy for a quick dopamine boost.’

Apparently, this is particularly prevalent in Gen Z (people in their twenties). It’s a sad indictment on the world at present, where our future generations cannot see a viable future for themselves. Even worse, there are plenty of people in the world who don’t have any money to spend at all!

Happily, there is a viable future for this earth and all of us.

‘“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”’  Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

God is going to step in by sending His son Jesus, who will take control and bring peace and stability for all.

“He will give justice to the poor and make fair decisions for the exploited. The earth will shake at the force of his word, and one breath from his mouth will destroy the wicked.” Isaiah 11:4 (NLT)

So we don’t need to live in fear for the future with a sense of hopelessness. In your Bible, you’ll find all the hope you need.
