God is our rock

Many of us are wondering what the future holds for coming generations. We hear a lot about climate change and we’ve all seen the images of great chunks of ice breaking off in the Antarctic as the oceans get warmer. Scientists warn of wildly fluctuating weather and low-lying areas being swamped by rising ocean levels. We have severe droughts and bushfires in Australia in Queensland and New South Wales. On the political scene, we fail to see stability in Australia’s traditional allies – the US and the UK. War continues to rage in the Middle East and even here in Australia we see the impact of attacks on Saudi oil plants through price hikes in petrol.

As well as these global problems, we can also be facing issues with health, families and work. It’s no wonder we often hear people asking, “What’s the world coming to?”

King David wrote in the Psalms “But the Lord is my fortress; my God is the mighty rock where I hide.” (Psalm 94:22, NLT) God wants us all to depend on Him like David did. He has promised to fix all the problems listed above and more, when He sends His son Jesus Christ to the earth.

The difference between God and man is huge. He ALWAYS does what He says and He has the power to make whatever He wants happen. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” (Revelation 21:4, NLT)

If this sounds good to you, then give the Bible a try. You can feel at peace in a world of turmoil because our God is greater than any problem. “Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.” (Isaiah 26:4, NLT)
