Don’t give up, turn to God and hang on!
It seems that almost everyone is stressed these days. The fast pace of our world is great when we’re on top of things, having fun and enjoying life. But what about the times when we aren’t quite so ‘balanced’, the times when maybe things are starting to get on top of us?
Ever noticed that the world doesn’t stop to wait? The things that we used to really enjoy can very quickly become distracting, overwhelming, frustrating and even frightening.
If and when this happens, do we have something to hang on to, something that can shelter us until our storm has passed? Do we have hope in our lives?
In a world that offers little more than very fleeting glimpses of current happiness and which seems to breed uncertainty, anxiety and depression – where can we turn?
The answer is simple – turn to God. In the Bible God has made promises of a wonderful future time, a time free from doubt, hunger, sickness crime and even death.
The Bible says: “These two things cannot change: God cannot lie when he makes a promise, and he cannot lie when he makes an oath. These things encourage us who came to God for safety. They give us strength to hold on to the hope we have been given. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and strong.” (Hebrews 6:18-19 NCV)
Don’t give up, turn to God and hang on.
