Good news online

I used not to bother looking at the ‘cute’ pictures of animals on social media. But over the last few years, I have found that I’m looking much less at everything else and more and more at the good news stories about animals that have saved people, or about the amazing bonds that have formed between different animals, and of course between us and our pets/animals.

Why is this? Well for me I think it’s because there seems to be an overwhelming avalanche of negativity, a never ending number of trolls and keyboard warriors who are just lurking, looking for an excuse to make negative and often derogatory comments (even about the most positive and harmless posts and stories), or to start an online argument.

It’s really easy to allow ourselves to get caught up in all the negativity, to feel upset or even get angry at the outrageously rude and baseless posts and comments that may be related to things or people that we care about!

How do we deal with this? The Bible tells us “Do your best to live in peace with everyone... Do not let evil defeat you, but defeat evil by doing good.” (Romans 12:18,21, NCV)

Imagine if more of us could do this – how much better would the world be?!

If you agree, maybe it’s time for you to get hold of a Bible and have a read – there are lots of positive messages in there that can provide great hope for anyone interested!
