Complaining

I have a desk calendar with a thought for each day. Yesterday it read, “Everyone visits the complaints department from time to time.  An occasional visit is okay, but a person should not spend most of his life there.” I found this quite amusing – I think we all know someone who might frequent that department!

But it also struck me that complaining could be a cover for deeper issues – unless we’re close to someone, we don’t know what problems they’re dealing with.

And let’s face it, there are a lot of things to be worried about in our world at present – and our governments try as they might, don’t seem to be able to sort them out. The rising cost of living, specifically food and energy prices, is a problem facing Australians and many others right now.

This is where, if we let Him, God can help. He is much more powerful and dependable than any human government. The Bible tells us, “Dont worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”  (Philippians 4:6, NLT)

It also says, “Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.” (Psalm 55:22, NLT)

Give it a try, it might just change your life!
