A single step

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” – this was a quote from Lao Tzu, a very wise Chinese philosopher who apparently lived around the 6th century BC (Wikipedia 2023).

Here's another quote – “Life will easily offer you reasons why something can't or shouldn't be done. To succeed, we have to look past these and see why something should be done. I climb a mountain not because it's steep, dangerous or cold at the top. I do it for the amazing view and sense of triumph standing at the peak. A life dominated by negative thoughts will only lead to sadness and disappointment. Twenty years from now, you will regret the things that you didn't do more than what you did do.” (anon.)

Times have been and continue to be tough. Do you ever feel like you're a bit stuck and that life doesn't seem to be leading you where you thought or hoped it might?

Rather than getting disillusioned and frustrated, why not consider the suggestion put forward in the Bible?

In the book of Psalms it says, “Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.” (Psalm 55:22, NLT)

Checking out the Bible is only one small step but it may be the first step on a fantastic journey; go on, have a look – why risk being left with regret about the step you didn't take?
