Blunt axe

Have you ever tried to chop wood with a blunt axe? Or tried to do a job using a makeshift tool; a tool not really designed for that job, like using a screwdriver as a chisel? Or tried to do something without fully understanding what you need to know to do it easily and properly? We often skip over the “read the instructions first” part of any installation job.

I put my hand up to plead guilty to all three offences!

Unsurprisingly there’s a verse in God’s Bible that covers this.

“Using a dull ax requires great strength, so sharpen the blade. That’s the value of wisdom; it helps you succeed.” (Ecclesiastes 10:10 NLT)

So apt and so very succinct!

Expanding our knowledge and then putting that knowledge into action will make our lives a lot easier. The Bible has a lot of other good advice on how to live well today.

It is worth a read as it has even more important information on how to live forever in a forever perfect world.

That world is coming.
