Compassion
Compassion – not a word we hear a lot these days. It means to have sympathy for the sufferings of others.
There are compassionate people in the world. For example, those involved in health care, charities, or relief organisations. But if we look at our world leaders today, it seems almost the opposite applies. Take what you want regardless of who gets hurt along the way. It doesn’t set a good example for society as a whole and it doesn’t bode well for future generations either.
There is a general feeling of unease about the direction we are heading in.
The good news is that God is watching us and He will intervene when the time is right.
“Yet there is one ray of hope: his compassion never ends. It is only the Lord’s mercies that have kept us from complete destruction. Great is his faithfulness; his loving-kindness begins afresh each day.” (Lamentations 3:21-23 TLB)
As this passage shows, God is full of compassion. He is going to send Jesus back to earth to change everything for the better.
The Bible provides all the details – surely worth a read?!
