Peace on earth

Down the road from where I live, there’s a park with a small war memorial, which is dedicated to the men and women who have fought for their country.  On a nearby park bench, these words are inscribed: “May peace prevail on earth.”

I recently looked on line to see how many wars are currently happening around the world – the answer was 32. So in addition to the well-publicised Ukraine and Gaza wars, there are another 30 armed conflicts taking place that we know very little about!

It brings to mind the question. Can there EVER be peace on earth?

The answer is YES! – but only when God takes over control. In the present system there are too many people who believe they would make better rulers, or believe they are entitled to more land, or just have a score to settle. 

“The Lord will settle international disputes; all the nations will convert their weapons of war into implements of peace. Then at the last all wars will stop and all military training will end.” Isaiah 2:4 TLB

“The righteous will flourish at the proper time and peace will prevail until the moon is no more.”  Psalm 72:7 ISV

What a great time to look forward to! It’s all right there in your Bible.
