Foundations

I've never been directly involved in designing or building a house.

But I know how important it is for a house to have the right foundations. Everything that makes up the building is reliant on the integrity of the base.

A good house design includes it being able to stay standing against the typical elements it is likely to be exposed to.

And a good portion of that ability is the result of what is usually not even visible - the foundations.

Life is a bit like that too.

Building and growing things like our values, habits, and skills can form the basis we all need to navigate life's challenges.

In the Bible Jesus talked about this very thing.

He said, "Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock." (Matt 7:24-25 NLT)
