Little children
We have recently seen pictures on the news of little children, dressed in their school uniforms, feeling excited about starting the new school year.
Looking at those fresh, happy faces reminds me of a time when everything was simpler. Little children (for the most part) tend to be innocent and trusting, not yet concerned about the worries and pain that often catch up with us later in life.
‘But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”’ Matthew 19:14 (NLT)
What did Jesus mean by this? Jesus wants us to be like little children in our attitudes. He wants us to be trusting, not doubting. He wants us to not be ambitious or discriminatory; he wants us to loving without reservation.
If we can approach our lives like little children, we will find more peace now and through the grace of God, a place in the coming kingdom to be set up by Jesus.
