War

Well it’s happened again. Another war in the Middle East – and even if you’re not directly involved, we’re all going to be affected, with the price of petrol expected to soar over the coming weeks.

So many arguments back and forth – who’s right, who’s wrong? The bottom line is people are dying. And modern warfare is so impersonal; we hear a report on the news “forty people were killed in a missile strike” – we might even see a drone picture of the explosion.

It’s so easy to be desensitised, isn’t it? Will it ever stop? Or is it all just too hard?

The Bible tells us that God knows everything that’s happening around the world and that He hates all the violence. That’s why He’s sending His son Jesus back to the earth – to stop the violence and bring peace.

“The Lord will mediate between peoples and will settle disputes between strong nations far away.  They will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.  Nation will no longer fight against nation, nor train for war anymore.”  Micah 4:3 (NLT)
