Temptation

Most of us will know the story of Adam and Eve, how a talking snake tempted Eve into eating the forbidden fruit. God changed human nature after that sin and now we can all tempt ourselves without needing any prompts at all!

A lot of the time these temptations are harmless like ‘I’d like another piece of that cheesecake!’

However there are other much more serious temptations.

In Australia we see news reports of masked criminals wielding machetes as they invade somebody’s home because they want what others have.

Or people in positions of power who decide they would like to intervene in the affairs of other countries, which can lead to serious ramifications for us all.

God has promised that this behaviour will stop.  

When Jesus returns to earth with full authority to use God’s power, people will be stopped from carrying out tempting thoughts.

Here’s a Bible verse talking about that time….

‘“And if you leave God’s paths and go astray, you will hear a voice behind you say, “No, this is the way; walk here.”’ (Isaiah 30:21 TLB)

Can you imagine how much safer, happier and content people will feel in this environment?
