Pain

I can’t remember a time in my life where I have not experienced pain. I suppose I did not have a continual headache as a child, but I certainly did from my teens until now. That’s sixty plus years on. A long time to have a headache! A doctor told me years ago that my headache experience is called chronic pain. In my case anyway, it’s a relatively low level pain which I don’t notice much when I am doing things; more when I stop and my brain is at rest.

So, poor me? Not really, for two reasons. The first is that I am far from alone in this and many other types of chronic pain experiences. Many people suffer and many more suffer much more than I do. The counter argument of course is that many don’t! But I guess that’s as may be!

But the second reason is the one that, in prospect, removes the “poor me” feeling completely. I have the hope of a perfect eternal life in a forever perfect earth. So do you. If you want it. It is a God given gift, but there are conditions attached. Hence the ‘in prospect’ caveat.

The details are in God’s Bible for anyone to pursue.

Here’s a verse right near the end of the Bible which sums it all up for me:

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever. (Revelation 21:4 NLT)
