Five verses to start your day

Regardless of if you’re the type of person who is up early to catch a yoga class before work, or sluggishly dragging yourself zombie-style towards your first of many cups of coffee, spirituality is the best possible thing you could add to your morning routine. This might look a little different for everyone; maybe it’s about taking a moment for prayer and touching base with God, or spending a little bit of time with the Bible.

While we try hard to do all things to the glory of God, and centre our lives around our faith, it can be difficult to find motivation amongst the more mundane moments in life.

Here are five verses to reflect on over your morning coffee, that I hope will motivate and strengthen you.

“But seek first His kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33, NIV)

“But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength...” (2 Timothy 4:17, NIV)

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” (Psalms 73:26, NIV)

“...Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9, NIV)

“For I know the plans I have for you… plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)
