All you need is love

The Beatles released a song in 1967 called ‘All you need is love’. If you look at the lyrics and the meaning of the song, it was not meant to be about romance with a partner, it was aimed at a more universal love for mankind in general.

This is the love that God has for us:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NIV)

The only thing God wants from us in return for this love is to acknowledge Him; and to show our gratitude by reflecting this love to all those around us.

Whilst there are some wonderful acts of love and compassion seen in society, most of our evening news is filled with violence, poverty and misery.
