The Olive tree

Sitting in my courtyard watching the perfect sage green coloured leaves of my olive tree blow in the wind is so inspiring. That colour alone and the shape of the leaves ignites my imagination. To be honest my frame of mind helps, as so often I have looked at this same tree and felt nothing, and almost annoyed that it needs water.

So my frame of mind is what's allowing me to see what's around me and to feel joy. How do I keep that frame of mind in this state? That, my friend, is the true challenge, and this is where the word of God comes in to play. When I keep my focus on God my frame of mind also feels light.

The Bible tells us -

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2 NIV).

I love the reminder in this verse that my frame of mind can be changed when I focus on God.
